The wife of the Dutchman suspected of stabbing a British fitness instructor to death in Kashmir has described how he was paranoid and “on the run” in India.

 

Richard De Wit, 43, was arrested after fleeing the scene of a brutal attack on Sarah Groves, who was stabbed 45 times in a houseboat on Srinagar’s Dal lake. Click here to read more »

Hillary Clinton’s playboy fundraiser arrested over heroin and cocaine

An Indian playboy and fundraiser for Hillary Clinton has been arrested in Florida after he tried to board a plane with heroin, cocaine and other drugs hidden in his bags and underpants.

 

Vikram Chatwal, the 41-year-old Sikh hotelier nicknamed the “Turban Cowboy”, has dated the supermodels Kate Moss and Giselle Bundchen, appeared in a number of films, including the Ben Stiller comedy Zoolander, and is known for his playboy lifestyle.

Dozens of British and other foreign expats in Goa face losing their dream retirement homes and businesses over claims that they have been bought illegally.

 

Twelve properties have already been confiscated while 32 owners have been served with eviction notices amid growing local resentment of foreigners owning homes and businesses in Goa. Local politicians have whipped up nationalist feelings against foreign owners who they blame for inflating property prices in the tropical holiday state.

British tourist who jumped from hotel window ‘will never travel alone in India again’

A British tourist has said she will never travel alone in India again after she jumped from a second floor window in fear of a sexual assault by her hotel manager.

 

Jessica Davies, a 31-year-old dental hygienist from south-east London, claimed the manager and an accomplice had laid siege to her hotel room for more than an hour after he had knocked in the middle of the night and asked her to shower and have an oil massage. Despite closing the door on him and declining his offer, he had continued trying to force his way in, she said.
