Kelly Yang went to university at the age of 13 and graduated from University of California, Berkeley and Harvard Law School. She speaks native English and fluent Mandarin.

She is the writer/producer/star of the new Facebook shouw on global issues for teens: Each week, on her show, Kelly discusses a thought-provoking current events topic. Started in january 2016, the show's been a hit with teenagers all over the worls, with each episode getting on average between 16,000 - 27,000 views on Facebook.

In addition to making videos, Kelly also writes extensively on education and culture as a columnist for the South China Morning Post. Kelly also contributes to The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, and CNN. Her op-ed in the Washington Post, Lean In and Lean on Grandma, stirred a national debate in the United States about the role of grandparents.

Kelly is also the author of three children's books and founder of The Kelly Yang Project, a leading writing and debate program for teenagers in Asia. She has appeared on CNN, CCTV, TEDx, HKTDC, Hong Kong Book Fair, TVB, and Huffington Post Live.

She is currently writing children’s books and a non fiction book.
